Fiat Unveiled 3 Chrysler-based Lancias

Ever since Fiat took over the reigns for then struggling Chrysler, Fiat management made it clear what they want to happen with their new acquisition - help Fiat's other struggling brands.

And so it happened. Fiat started working on exchanging vehicle models for Chrysler and Fiat's struggling Lancia brand, which over the years saw market share decreasing, with its name almost unheard of outside Italy.

Fiat started with rebadging Lancia Delta with Chrysler Delta. The car did well in the US. And now it's Chrysler's turn to turn the tides for Lancia back in Italy.

Fiat used the Geneva show to stage its 3 new rebadged Chrysler-based Lancias. The three vehicles, namely the 300, 200 (formerly known as the Sebring), and the Town & Country minivan.

With Lancia using these Chrysler vehicles, Fiat had to come up with new names that will fit the taste of Italians and not sense the car being American, at least in its name, because the car's exteriors and specs are obviously American.

The Chrysler 300 will be called the Lancia Thema. The Sebring, now known as the Chrysler 200, is named the Lancia Flavia. The Flavia will be offered in both sedan and convertible forms. Lastly, the popular Town & Country minivan will be called the Lancia Voyager.

All vehicles will have the same looks and specs, and only the badge will see the change from Chrysler to Lancia.
