Japanese car maker Toyota is still on the rocks with its legal battles and ongoing investigations for its unintended acceleration issues but the company is still doing its best to offer the world the best technologies, and this includes new car tech for 2015.

By 2015, Toyota said that is very likely that they will be able to offer the public the first profitable Hydrogen powered sedans for a price of $50,000. According to Toyota, the hydrogen technology for a vehicle is already in the works and that it is likely to be finish in 5 years.

The power that will be given by hydrogen to a car is almost similar to a gas powered vehicle. The price tag, according to Toyota, is what they need to at least support the production of these technology.

Normally, a hydrogen powered vehicle is said to cost more than hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the Japanese automaker said that they have already cut the cost of production to almost 1/10th the levels in the mid-2000s.

Toyota said that a $50,000 price tag is still expensive for the common earner. However, they believe that they will be able to gain a market for this vehicle, especially when people note that Hydrogen powered vehicles will save them thousands of dollars in the long run.

General Motors, Daimler, Hyundai and Honda have already expressed their willingness to join Toyota in the race for the Hydrogen powered sedan by 2015.
