When you're purchasing a car, there are many things to consider, most of popular of which is aesthetics and mileage. Then there's also reliability. Of course we don't want to have a car that breaks everytime you go on a cross-country drive, do you?

But take note, these are the same cars that mechanics hate. Sure, you're happy that you don't have to spend much on maintenance and parts replacement because they are that reliable, but mechanics are afraid that they won't be able to earn any money if all cars on the planet are the same as these reliable units. This has been the subject of a recent Yahoo! article, which you can see here. It's a list of the 13 cars that mechanics hate for their durability and reliability. Well, sort of.

Two Honda's topped the list, with the Honda Civic and Honda Accord getting first and second, respectively. All-in-all, there give Honda's in the list, with the Honda Odyssey, Honda CR-V, and the Honda Element also making it to the list.

There were also 4 Toyota units there, namely: the Toyota Camry, the Toyota Corolla, the Toyota Prius, and the Toyota Sienna. There were also 2 Subaru units (Subaru Impreza and Subaru Forester), while there's also a Nissan Altima making it as the last car in the list. If not for the inclusion of the Ford Fusion and the Ford Fusion Hybrid, it would be an all-Asian list. American cars may have all the style in the world, but if what you are gunning for is efficiency and reliability, Asian (in particular, Japanese) cars are the way to go.

In general, the cars in the list only have to have regular maintenance. OEM parts are affordable and big repairs are generally rare. If you want to save a lot of money from automobile maintenance, these are surely the units that you would like to have. Just forget about the mechanics!
