Do you even read the safety manuals of your car? Do you know specifically everything that has to be remembered about your car when it comes to safety measures and things that you are not supposed to do? Well, you should because it's for your own safety. But do most people bother to do that? Apparently not.

In recent automobile news, carmaker Toyota now wants its dealers to educate buyers about model features so that the buyers won't run into problems concerning their bad practices. This happened after thousands of buyers ignored the warning about stacking floor mats beneath accelerator pedals.

As many as 7,000 owners have raised their concerns about floor mats getting stuck in the accelerator pedals or resulting to sticky gas pedals. These same owners also didn't know how to remove the mats when they get stuck because a lot of them did not bother to learn about the seemingly trivial car features. If left untreated, this might result to a number of accidents that are then blamed on Toyota. About fifteen percent of all Toyota units have stacked floor mats to them. Not a good figure, definitely.

Last year, Toyota recalled more than 10.8 million units after a family in the US got killed due to a stuck floor mat in the gas pedal. The recall and the incident hurt the top automaker's reputation for good-quality automobiles. Toyota, along with other Japanese automakers, have always been viewed to be both cheap and leading when it comes to vehicle quality.

Seriously, we should all bother to check our manuals and determine for ourselves if what we are doing is any good for our unit. Our life may sometimes be at risk if left like that without any precaution. These warnings serve a purpose and it's our job to heed them. In any case, Toyota did a great job in wanting the dealers to educate the buyers about the features of the car. Some users just need some drilling. That might do them some good.
